At the last Board of Education meeting, students from Oakwood and Countrywood Primary Centers were on hand to thank the board members for their dedication and commitment to providing a quality education. Dedicated as ‘Board Appreciation Night,’ the evening began with a musical selection from Oakwood second-grade student council singers led by music teacher Ms. Luella Pinelli. Each of the multi-talented singers then pulled out a Ukulele and proceeded to impress the packed audience with their musical skill. Representative students from each primary center then presented board members a handcrafted gift and read a card that talked about all the things they were appreciative of. “The beautiful music, heartfelt letters, and generous gifts were genuinely appreciated by our Board of Education Team,” said Board Vice President Nicholas Ciappetta, filling in for Jim Kaden. “There is nothing as important as hearing from the children of our community, as they remind us of our collective mission and work.” A special thanks to Oakwood students: Aadi Vohra, Allison Palacios, and Meghan Roth. And a big thank you to Countrywood students: Brody Grant, Reece Fullerton, Sarah Pratt, and Kritz Taku. PTA Council President Eleanora Ferrante, and Booster Club Vice President Jayne O’Toole also made a presentation to each Board member thanking them for their service to the district. “Thank you, as well, to our PTA Council and Booster Club for remembering us with tokens of their appreciation,” added Ciappetta. “We are so very fortunate to be part of such a special team.” Thank you to the following Oakwood student council singers for helping to create a perfect evening: Abigail Mejia, Ezekiel Previti, Sophia Luebker, Justin Martinez, Gevonne Henderson, Jillian Kobel, Natalie Symons, Dominick Chiusano, Maggie Monasterio, Emanuel Infante, Anna Braglia, Benjamin Glassman, Logan Elar, Aspen Anzoneri, Ever Chavez Hernandez, Jacianna Chiechi, Thomas Cusack, Arianna White, and Owen McKinley.
