Congratulations Varsity Field Hockey: The team extended their record to 9-3 with a lopsided 7-0 win over Half Hollow Hills on Thursday. This was senior night and they celebrated by bounding through the new Wildcat Booster Club tunnel and onto the field to easily dispatch Hills. Goals were score by the following: Nicole DeLuca-2 goals and 2 assists, Kelly Baumann-2 goals, Amanda Glaser-1 goal, Christina Lofaso-1 goal, Sarine Karabajian-1 goal, Kayla Neiland-1 assist, Kelsey DeRosa-1 assist. The Defense did a great job allowing only 3 shots on goal. Kayla Neiland recorded 2 saves, and Emily Dickson-1 save. The team has one more home game before the playoffs. Come out and support our Lady Wildcats on October 20th at 4:30 PM. Congratulations Girls Varsity Soccer: Yesterday, the Team defeated Connetquot by a score of 2-1 keeping its playoff chances alive. Joie Tortorice tied the game with 16 minutes remaining on an assist by Zanab Ojibe. Two minutes later, Rebecca DeWitt ripped a shot through the goalie’s legs to put the Lady Wildcats ahead. Brittany Shaneberger made 11 saves in goal to secure the victory. Great Win Ladies! Come out and support the girls today at 4:45 when we play Hills East. This is our senior game as well as our Kicks for Cancer awareness game. The Boys Varsity Soccer Team upended Hills East yesterday by the score of 7-1. Witman Hernandez got the Wildcats on the board 54 seconds into the game off an assist by Eduardo Alfaro. Witman finished with a hat trick. Fabrizio Chamorro added 2 goals and 1 assist. Blake Aronson contributed 1 goal and 1 assist. Luis Castro scored his first career goal as well. Michael Lorello, Jon Consolo and Akeem Harris chipped in with assists. Marc DePasquale and Austin Salas combined to make 8 saves. With the win the Wildcats are now 11-1-1 overall and in first place in League II. Please come out and support the team at their final regular season home game and Senior Night on Monday at 6pm versus Bayshore. Congratulations Boys Volleyball: Whitman beat Huntington 3-1. Joe Esposito had 27 assists 1 kill, and 2 digs. Jack Poplawski had 14 kills, 7 aces, and 9 digs. Whitman improves to 5-5 as the Team makes a push toward playoff contention. The boys’ senior game and Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser is October 29th at 6pm. Come out and support the team and a great cause. Congratulations Girls Volleyball: The Varsity Girls Volleyball team defeated East Islip yesterday 3 games to 0. Junior Olivia Poplawski had 37 assists and 4 aces, Junior Lauren Civello had 11 digs and 5 aces, Senior Emma Kongevold had 17 kills and Junior Jess Young had 7 kills. Great work by the entire team.
