Whitman’s Varsity Boys Lacrosse team sought revenge after their 12-5 loss against Hills East and exacted it upon a winless Copiague team on Thursday afternoon. Whitman scored at will and spread the scoring around so almost everyone had their shot. Copiague had their chances, but were unmatched against Whitman’s on-their-game defense and stellar goal keeping from junior Shane Brennan. The Wildcats season now sits at 4-2 in Suffolk League II play as they head into the second half of their season. League I rival Commack will be at Whitman on Monday, April 20th at 6:45 and then the Wildcats will travel to League II powerhouse Smithtown West on Wednesday April 22nd for a 5PM showdown. This team has their work cut out for them to make the playoffs, and they possess the talent to get it done. In the Copiague win, Whitman freshman Joseph Neumann went 23-for-24 on face-offs for Whitman, and Scott Manning had 3 goals and 4 assists, with Ryan Glidden adding 3 goals of his own. Colin O'Hara posted 5 assists and 1 goal; Jaron Batts had 1 goal and 1 assist; Chris Senecal posted 2 goals; Matt Stockfeder had 1 goal and 1 assist; Addison Bermudez added 2 assists; Willie Petro had 1 goal and 1 assist; Craig Stockfeder had 2 goals; Anthony Palazzolo had 1 goal; Sam Zakow added an assist; and Spencer DeRosa, Joseph Neumann, Quinn O'Hara and Matt Havecotte each scored a goal.
