Hi All:
I wasn't expecting to be celebrating the eve of spring with an email about snowy weather. However, the winter of 2014-2015 seems to be ending as it began with yet another challenge for us to consider. The latest weather models, which are always subject to change, havetomorrow'sfirst day of spring arriving with a slushy mix to begin aroundnoon. Interestingly, late March snow totals are always difficult to predict as precipitation often melts after hitting paved surfaces (this is way more than I should know about snow). This is, of course, a giant unknown, so we will keep our eye on the conditions and plan for all contingencies. Fortunately, it does look like we are going to be able to get the school day in and avoid having to tinker with any vacation scheduled. It is wise, however, with the timing of this storm for everyone to confirm their early dismissal contingency plans in case that presents itself as the most prudent option.
As we have discussed in the past, an early release remains a last resort option, which will be used in only the most extreme cases, but it's always wise to be prepared.
Have a great night and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine to warm the roads.
Be well,
Dave Bennardo
