Dear Parent/Guardian
Over the next few weeks, the South Huntington school district will be administering required Common Core fieldtests. A schedule of the dates, buildings and subject areas are listed below. We reached out to the New York State Education Department for guidance and/or relief/flexibility on these field assessments and have been advised by the Director of the Office of State Assessment that “All schools that administer State operationaltestsare also required to administer the fieldtestsassociated with them.” Fieldtestsare used to “ensure the validity and reliability of New York State operationaltests” and are not graded or used in any other capacity.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the fieldtests, please contact your child’s principal. Those who have previously communicated with their Building Principals and/or District Office regarding their family testingpreference do not need to resubmit documentation.
