We sat down with Vincent Feola recently and the exhaustion from the long wrestling schedule was written on the senior’s face. The New York State Wrestling Championships took place this past weekend and hehad just finished wrestling two matches on Saturday and another two on Sunday, all of them against county champions. “Most of the matches were all pretty close, especially the final,” said Feola. “My semifinal against Tyler Hudson of Whitesboro ended with a 3-2 win and my final against Youssif Hemida of Mamaroneck was 3-2 right down to the end when he got a takedown making the final score 5-2.”
This was Vincent’s 2nd year as a New York State finalist, and while he couldn’t hide his disappointment, just getting to that level two consecutive years, is a major accomplishment for any high school athlete. Vincent has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at North Dakota State University in the fall. Congratulations Vincent Feola on an incredible high school wrestling career.
