When they found him he weighed only 43 pounds and was suffering from dehydration, pneumonia and seal pox. But with help from a group of Stimson 8th graders and the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation, this rescued harbor seal was rehabilitated for the past 3 months, and over the Spring recess, Iron Man was set free in his natural habitat on Long Islands East End.
Thank you Stimson and thank you Stimson community for your hard work and generosity. The next time you’re in the vicinity of Shinnecock Bay in Hampton Bays, that harbor seal you’re looking at may just be Iron Man thanking you.
