The results are in and Stimson Middle School Principal Mr. Edwin Smith is proud to announce that twenty-six of his students are winners in the National French Language Contest. Of special note is our 7th grade group who practically swept the Suffolk County rankings taking nine of the top ten spots. The National French Contest/Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Out of the 87,000 seventh through twelfth graders nationally who took the exam, Stimson students placed extremely well.

"We are very proud of all of our students who did extremely well this year,” said Ms. Stephanie Murphy. “I knew from day one that this year's group [7th graders] was extremely bright and hard working,” said Ms. Murphy. “They have been so motivated all year long and haven't lost their stamina yet. They have exceeded all my expectations and I look forward to teaching them again next year.”
The top ten students in Suffolk County will attend an awards ceremony on June 3rd at Half Hollow Hills East High School. Nationally Ranked Winners will get an extra award as well.
